Travel

**The Paris 2024 Paralympics are taking place during our wedding weekend so we highly suggest booking travel and accommodation well in advance.

Transportation to Events

Transportation will be provided for the wedding day only. It is highly suggested that you take the bus to the wedding which will pick up at Demeure Montagine at 1:15pm sharply and drop off at Demeure Montagine following the wedding.

If you miss the bus it will be challenging to arrive to the venue on time and you may be held at the gate until the ceremony has finished.

We suggest taking an Uber, G7 or organizing a taxi with your hotel to arrive to the Welcome Event and Rehearsal Cocktail (more details below). Please allow an efficient amount of time as the Paralympics will cause congestion in the city.

Getting Around Paris

We suggest to call an Uber, Taxi, or G7 at least 15-20 minutes before departure time.

Uber: Uber works well in Paris but be sure to allow yourself 15 minutes prior to leaving to call for one.

Taxis: Taxis are readily available throughout the city of Paris. You can flag them down on the street (with a green light on top of the car indicating they are available), or have your hotel call for one.

G7: G7 is an app that we suggest you download prior to your arrival in Paris. It is similar to Uber, but uses local taxis. This app has faster pickup times than Uber since it is more widely available.

Traveling to Paris

Paris Charles de Gaulle Aiport

We recommend that you fly directly into Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) arriving no later than Friday morning.

The easiest way to get into downtown Paris from the airport is the RER train or an Uber, the train being more affordable. There will be signage at the airport to direct you to both Uber and the RER pickups.

If you are traveling throughout Europe, Paris Orly Airport (ORY), is another airport option within close proximity.

Hotel Recommendations

Due to the Paralympics and strict hotel policies, some hotels have been pre-reserved by the city of Paris, therefore we will not have a wedding room block.

The family will be staying at Demeure Montaigne off of Avenue Montaigne. The hotel is not yet available to book to the public (due to the city’s hold), but rooms will be released in January.

We would still love to keep our guests close, so please see below a few additional options.

If you plan to book a hotel or airbnb outside of these recommendations, we suggest staying on the north side of the river, and on the left side of the city. This is the closest location to our events taking place in the city and will have least disturbance based on the locations of Paralympic sporting events.

If you have any questions or need support in booking, don’t hesitate to reach out.
